The Declaration's Journey: 250 Years of Liberty, Equality, and Self-Government

The Supreme Court will host the Commonwealth Court Historical Society in the Madame Justice Sandra Schultz Newman courtroom in Philadelphia’s City Hall on May 11, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Dr. R. Scott Stephenson, the President and CEO of the Museum of the American Revolution, will present a lively hour on the Declaration of Independence and its effect on American jurisprudence. The Society will also be celebrating the trailblazing legacy of the Commonwealth Court’s first African-American Judge Robert W. Williams, Jr.
