Over fifty Chief Justices and one hundred Associate Justices have shaped and guided the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania since 1684. However, their service was not limited to their work on the court. Eleven Justices served as the Mayor of Philadelphia; four have been the Governor of Pennsylvania; nine served as Congressmen; two Justices signed the Declaration of Independence; two served as the United States Attorney General; one as Secretary of State; and one Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice joined the US Supreme Court.
The following list of Justices and their biographical information were compiled in 2022 for the celebration of the Court's 300-year anniversary. Read the historian's notes about the construction of the list.
